The 28th annual Business in the Arts Awards will be held Monday, May 14 at 5:30 p.m. at the Center of New Hampshire – Radisson Hotel in Manchester. Sponsored by the New Hampshire Business Committee for the Arts, the gala will honor the twenty-five New Hampshire businesses nominated for this year’s awards. The evening highlights a celebration of business support for the arts and entertains with a performance showcase of drama, literature and music. The grand finale is the announcement of the Award winners.
Rebecca Lavoie, author and producer and host at NH Public Radio, is the master of ceremonies for the festivities. The performances include the Nashua Flute Choir, a reading by Portsmouth Poet Laureate John-Michael Albert, a musical scene from “Side by Side by Sondheim” by The Acting Loft and Manchester Community Music School’s Ukulele Social.
More arts features include a cultural trivia quiz show with lucky contestants winning baskets filled with goodies from New Hampshire’s cultural organizations, table centerpieces by the Concord Arts Market and the award prizes by artist Sheri Hancock-Tomek.
The twenty-five businesses were nominated for their sponsorships, employee volunteerism, and donations of products and services in support of the arts. The winners in each of four categories will be announced during the evening.
